General Information
We would like to let you know a little bit about Hervey Bay’s best-kept secret Susan River Homestead. First of all there’s the atmosphere of the homestead and believe me there’s lots of it here! There is a general sense of light-heartedness that washes over you as you alight from your vehicle, big smiles followed by an even bigger dog (Ben, a Bull Mastiff X that will look at you longingly until you pat him) greet you at the front entry.
Then there are all the activities that you can do.
There’s the horse-riding (a real favourite with everyone) through picturesque countryside with real paddocks, cows, horses and yes even goats!! Not to mention the running commentary, which is more than just informative tidbits about the property and riding tips, it’s guaranteed to bring a smile to your dial.
Next there’s the lake and all the water sports to boot. Parasailing over the lake. Wow, think of the view then you can try your hand at skiing or knee-boarding. Something for everyone.
We also have a 50ft pool with plenty of banana chairs surrounding to lay back and soak up the sun on (why sit when you can recline and relax?). Not to forget the spa and sauna room it conjures thoughts of a lovely cool drink and yes more relaxation mmmmm. Just to snap you out of the relax mode before you leave us for the real world there’s a gym also used by those who just feel the need to exercise (strange, yet some people do this regularly)
After all the relaxation and fun you have at Susan River Homestead during the day there’s still plenty to do at night after Carol cooks you (and the rest of the McLean family in residence) a superb three course meal. With a few good choices of places to be. Either the billiard room which includes a jukebox (for those jive bunny’s) or maybe the lounge watching TV would suit better with it’s feather cushions (there’s more of that relaxation thing) or maybe just bed after a big day so you can do it all again tomorrow.
